Q-flex: Manufacture Smarter
Flexible Technology

  • MRF head design enables tool free changeovers in minutes, with unique raster / freeform and rotational wheel orientations, allowing greater diversity in the types of parts you can polish—from spheres to difficult aspheres to full freeform parts.
  • Fluid Control Module (FCM) provides improved fluid stability, and repeatable performance from day-to-day and machine-to-machine. Modular design allows for quick fluid changes and easier cleaning.
  • QED.NET software provides different process flows for prototype and production modes. Wizards guide users through many processes and allow for customized access by different levels of users. On-line help system and the ability to email QED directly from the machine provides quick answers to questions.

Q-flex: Manufacture Better
Flexible Architecture

The modularity of Q-flex means you can easily tailor the machine to your workload, bringing greater efficiency to your precision optics shop. Q-flex was designed for a production-oriented environment, and quick, easy changeovers allow you to realize significant gains in productivity.

And the modularity of Q-flex will accommodate future fluids or polishing capabilities.

In minutes, MRF heads can be changed from 20 mm, 50 mm and 150 mm size to accommodate your polishing needs.

  • Heads can be oriented for raster / freeform or rotational polishing allowing flexibility and diversity in the type of parts you polish
  • Heads can be quickly changed without the use of tools
  • Head alignment is completed automatically
  • Head carts provide storage for heads and other tooling such as lens holders
The Fluid Control Module (FCM) houses the fluid delivery system hardware & controls in one package.
  • With multiple FCMs, fluid changeovers are a snap
  • MRF fluid can be maintained in bypass and away from the base machine
  • Cleanup is easy: roll the FCM to the sink

Specifications subject to change without notice.
* Please note that workpiece geometry and weight specifications are approximate values to be used as general guidelines.  Due to other factors such as workpiece inertia that are difficult to quantify, there are parts outside this range that can indeed be run under certain circumstances, as well as parts within this range that may not run under all circumstances.  Please use caution when attempting parts outside these limits, or contact QED for further guidance.
