Meet the QED Team who will host your visit at Optatec
The 10th OPTATEC will host international experts in Frankfurt from 15 through 18 June 2010 with a significantly revised range of offerings, as well as a special presentation of current and future industry focal points.
Andrew Kulawiec, President
Prior to QED, Andrew was Vice President of Operations for Semrock, Inc., a developer and manufacturer of high performance optical filters for the biotech and analytical instrumentation markets, in Rochester, New York. He was responsible for overall manufacturing operations for Semrock, including thin-film optical coatings and finishings, supply chain, logistics, facilities and quality.
Andrew’s career also spans twelve years between Corning, Inc. and Corning Tropel Corporation in New York. Corning Tropel Corporation is a manufacturer of precision optical sub-systems and metrology instruments. While there Andrew held technical roles, as well as management positions responsible for metrology development and operations.
Andrew holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master of Science degree and Ph.D. in Optical Engineering from the University of Rochester (New York).

Marc Tricard, Director of Business Development
Marc Tricard oversees New Business Development and Sales & Marketing activities. He has extensive experience in the semiconductor industry.
Prior to joining QED, Marc Tricard was Business Manager, World – Electronics for Saint-Gobain Abrasives, a division of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain, a 30 billion dollar multinational corporation. His academic background includes a Master of Science in Materials Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute & State University, Blacksburg, VA and a Diplome D’Ingenieur de l’Ecole Nationale Superieure d’Arts et Metiers, Paris, France.
Jean-Pierre Lormeau, Business Manager, Europe
Jean-Pierre Lormeau oversees all business activities for QED in Eastern and Western Europe and the United Kingdom. Prior to joining QED in 2006, he held Senior Management positions with the European branch of JDS Uniphase as well as various technical, operational and sales management positions in the semi-conductor and fiber optics telecommunications industries.
Ralf Cichos, Customer Service Engineer
Ralf Cichos is responsible for servicing QED polishing and metrology sytems throughout Eastern and Western Europe and the United Kingdom. As a Service Engineer he is involved in all aspects of system installation, testing, customer traning and field support.
Before joining QED in 2006, Ralf worked for Schneider Optikmaschinen GmbH.
Jon Fleig, Senior Software Engineer
As Senior Software Engineer in QED's Optical Engineering Department, Jon is active in new product development and continuous improvement. Jon has been involved in the develpment of all QED interferometry products including the most recently introduced Aspheric Stitching Interferometer (ASI).
Prior to joining QED in 2000, Jon worked for Tropel in metrology products development for over 10 years.
