QED: Paving the with Innovation

It’s good news for our industry.  The global optics industry continues to grow stronger.  We are seeing a pronounced increase in the demand for new finishing and metrology capabilities.  The number of global companies and research institutions that have adopted our technology continues to grow rapidly. Even as we are busy filling these orders, our engineers continue to push the boundaries of QED’s MRF® and SSI® technologies.  We continue to innovate our core technologies so that they will better serve our customers and allow them to stay at the forefront of the industry with cutting edge capabilities.  We truly believe that our customers use our finishing and metrology tools to make the best optics in the world.

In 1996, QED introduced a commercial MRF platform that changed the way optics are finished today.  We continue to innovate to make sure our customers continue to have the best tools in the industry to help them achieve even greater results.

As Optifab returns to Rochester next month, it will be a perfect opportunity to showcase some of the exciting developments that have been going on here at QED.  We will be unveiling Q-flex, the next generation in MRF finishing.  Through design innovation and continuous improvement, we have designed Q-flex to be the ultimate in flexibility and ease of use, bringing even more productivity to the optics shop.

Even with all these exciting development to MRF technology, we don’t want to over look the developments with metrology. Stitching interferometry continues to be an incredibly powerful metrology tool, and we continue to develop and refine the technology to better enable our customers to harness and use its power.

We invite you to visit the QED booth at Optifab to see for yourself, the new, innovative applications for both MRF and SSI technologies and their expanded capabilities.
