What makes Mike an effective sales manager?
Mike has been a passionate advocate of MRF and SSI technologies since 1998, when he became one of QEDs first customers. Back then, Mike managed the Optical Assembly and Test department for for a precision optics manufacturing company. Mike saw the Optical Production group struggling to hand correct Fused Silica lenses to account for bulk homogeneity problems inherent in the material. The group was faced with missed deadlines, high costs and overruns, a lack of predictability in the process, and very often, degraded surface shapes. The MRF process was the perfect solution to the group's troubles which in turn enabled Mike's Optical Assembly and Test group to be successful. Mike's belief that MRF Finishing and SSI Metrology can help todays optics manufacturers make their optics better, faster and cheaper stems from his own experience with the challenges manufacturers face.
Secondly, Mike describes himself as a hands-on guy with an elephant's memory for people and events. He's great at his job because he loves having the opportunity to work with other manufacturers and help them to be even better at what they already do so well.
