QED Technologies® (QED) has been fortunate to receive recognition and accolades not only for its breakthrough technologies but for its commitment to excellence in everyday business practices as well. The list below highlights some of QED's most recent awards:
- QED's new Subaperture Stitching Interferometer for Aspheres, SSI-A® , earned a R&D 100 Award for 2008. This award presented by R&D Magazine marks the SSI-A as one of the 100 most technologically significant products introduced into the marketplace in the past year.
- QED was one of 55 companies in the U.S. to receive the 2007 Tibbetts Award and was selected from over 4,000 companies that receive contracts and grants under the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program each year.
- In conjunction with Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) and Zygo Corporation, QED won a prestigious R&D 100 Award for 2007, granted by R&D Magazine for the 100 most technologically significant products introduced into the marketplace in the past year.
- QED received Honorable Mention for the 2005 American Business Ethics Award which recognizes U.S. companies who exemplify high standards of ethical behavior in their everyday business conduct and in response to specific crises or challenges.
- 2004 QED named to Inc. Magazine's "InnerCity 100," a ranking of 100 of the fastest-growing businesses in inner city areas around the country. This acknowledgement applauds the Inner City 100 companies that ultimately have a tremendous impact on the economy, particularly for struggling inner cities.
- QED’s new Subaperture Stitching Interferometer (SSI®) system received the coveted 2003 Photonics Circle of Excellence Award as one of the 25 most innovative photonics products introduced during the past year.
- The 2003 Rochester Business Ethics Award, recognizing a Rochester company that exemplifies the highest ethical standards in their everyday business practices.
- MRF® pioneer Paul Dumas received the 2003 Optics Society of America (OSA) Engineering Excellence Award for outstanding contributions to the field of optics and engineering.
- 2003 Army SBIR Phase II Quality Award for “Subaperture Stitching Interferometer for Aspheric Surfaces” represents “Best in Class” technology and commercialization potential.
- QED Technologies was named to the 2003 Rochester Top 100 for the third consecutive year. In 2002, QED was 4th on the list of the 100 fastest growing, privately held companies with over a million dollars in annual revenue.
- Magnetorheological Finishing was named a 2002 SBIR “Success Story.”
- 2001 Photonics Circle of Excellence naming the Q22-Y one of the 25 most innovative photonic products introduced during the past year.
- 2001 R&D100 Award -- the Q22-Y was selected as one of the most technologically significant new products for the year 2000. The R&D 100 Award is considered the most prestigious honor in applied research.
- Don Golini was honored with 2001 Entrepreneur of the Year Award recognizing individuals in Upstate New York whose ingenuity and perseverance have created the "Blueprints to Success" for growing business ventures.
- 2000 Department of Defense MANTECH Achievement Award for outstanding technical accomplishments in achieving world-class manufacturing capability as selected by the Office of the Deputy Under Secretary of Defense for Science and Technology and the Joint Defense Manufacturing Technology Panel.
